In terms of adding well-known, veteran players to their roster, the Los Angeles Lakers have definitely received an A+ for the moves they made this NBA offseason!

LeBron James is now the longest-tenured player on Los Angeles’ roster, as he enters his fourth season with the Lakers, but now, instead of just Anthony Davis, James has Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, DeAndre Jordan, Trevor Ariza, Kent Bazemore and many others next to him. 

The Lakers won the 2020 NBA Finals, their 17th championship in team history, and after losing in the first round of the playoffs to the Phoenix Suns this past season, Los Angeles is looking to contend for their 18th championship in team history, which would be a new NBA record. 

If this team was assembled 5-6 years ago, we would be talking about this team possibly breaking the 2015-2016 Warriors 73-9 regular-season record, but there is a lot of unknowns about this Lakers team.

They have a ton of overall talent and former All-Star players, but durability and fatigue is definitely going to be a concern for them, especially since their average team age is about 31.2-years-old, making them one of the oldest teams in NBA history right now.

After signing DeAndre Jordan once he reached a buyout agreement with the Detroit Pistons, the Lakers traded Marc Gasol to the Memphis Grizzlies, giving them 13 players on their active roster.
