Why Washington Wizards Should Pursue Myles Turner
The Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers could both use a little rebalancing of their roster. Completing another trade with one another, this time centered around Myles Turner, would benefit both teams.
For the Indiana Pacers, they would be able to move Domantas Sabonis over to the center spot permanently. Davis Bertans is an excellent fit alongside the playmaking center, as he attempts 9.4 3-pointers per 75 possessions and connects at a 41.5 percent clip.
The first-round pick gives Indiana more value, as Turner is three years younger and a better-rated player based on the box plus/minus over the last three seasons. But, for Washington, surrendering that first-round pick is palatable, as they should be perennial playoff contenders with Turner in the fold.
Turner is one of the best defensive players in the NBA. He led the league with 3.4 blocks per game last season and altered numerous more attempts every game. Washington could certainly use a defensive anchor like that, as they were last in the NBA in blocks per 100 possessions.

In addition to the rim protection, Turner is a solid 3-point shooter. He has made 35.2 percent of his attempts in his career, giving the offense a little more floor spacing to help make things run smoothly.
With more perimeter-orientated options playing alongside him, we could also see Turner expand on his offensive repertoire. He has a deft handle for a big man and attacks the rim rather well when given the opportunity.

A starting lineup of Spencer Dinwiddie, Bradley Beal, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Rui Hachimura or Kyle Kuzma at power forward and Myles Turner at center would be a legitimate playoff contender in the Eastern Conference. The depth behind them is something not many teams would be able to compete with.
