Does this trade make sense for New York Knicks?

No matter what they would have to give up, the New York Knicks should be all-in on the idea of adding Damian Lillard to their roster.

One of the biggest things that have held the Knicks back over the years, besides their lack of overall talent, is the fact that no superstar/All-Star players have wanted to sign with them in free agency because they haven’t been able to show that they can win at a high-level. 

Going 41-31 last season and earning the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference is definitely encouraging for the Knicks league-wide, but now if they can get their hands on Damian Lillard and prove that they are there to stay at the top of the Eastern Conference, there will be plenty of other high-level players that will want to join this team. 

Just this team alone with Damian Lillard paired with Julius Randle, Kemba Walker and R.J. Barrett are intriguing enough to watch over the course of the season! After being at the bottom of the league for years, the Knicks are finally on the rise and they made some big statements with the way they played last season.

Tom Thibodeau winning Coach of the Year and Julius Randle winning Most Improved Player was just the start of what could be some very magical years in New York City for this Knicks organization.

They should absolutely pursue any trade that involved them getting Damian Lillard, a player that could potentially elevate them to making the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 1999 when they lost in the NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs.
