Are The Golden State Warriors Back?

The Minnesota Timberwolves are definitely a storyline to watch in the Western Conference, but so are the Golden State Warriors, who will finally be getting Klay Thompson back for the first time since the 2019 NBA Finals. Thompson has been out with a torn right ACL and then a ruptured left Achilles, so if the reports are true and Klay is back on Christmas Day, he will be taking the floor in an NBA game for the first time 926 days.

Not only do the Warriors have Thompson, but Andre Iguodala is back in a Warriors uniform, and they also signed both Otto Porter Jr. and Nemanja Bjelica to minimum contracts for the season. Then with key young talents in Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, Jordan Poole, Damion Lee, Jonathan Kuminga, and Moses Moody, all of a sudden, the Warriors look like an actually contending team in the Western Conference.

The Los Angeles Lakers will get all the hype entering the year but do not sleep on the Warriors because Mr. Stephen Curry will once again be a real MVP candidate. Curry is coming off a season where he averaged a league-high 32.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and he shot 42.1% from three-point range on a league-high 801 attempts.

If this team stays healthy, which may appear to be a big ask, they certainly have a chance to cement themselves as one of the best teams in the entire league. They won a title back in 2015 with just Steph, Klay, and Draymond, and they can certainly do it again, especially with all the talent surrounding them now.

By the end of the year, Andrew Wiggins in the third scoring option role is going to do wonders for his game, and James Wiseman also has a chance to expand off of a solid rookie season.

The Warriors, on paper, certainly look like they are back, and again, if they are healthy entering the playoffs, they will be looking to win their fourth title in an eight-year span, which would be remarkable because they missed the playoffs for back-to-back seasons now.
