Golden State Warriors Receive: C Marc Gasol
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: CHA 2025 2nd Round Pick (Protected Top-55)

One of the teams who could actually be interested in Marc Gasol is the Golden State Warriors, who only have James Wiseman and Kevon Looney as their two centers.

The Warriors had an interest in signing Gasol back when he was a free agent last offseason before he signed with the Lakers, so they could still have some interest in the veteran big man.

Keep in mind, the Warriors have Mychal Mulder on a non-guaranteed contract and Gary Payton II on a partially-guaranteed contract, so they could move one of these guys to acquire Gasol, but they could also trade away a future second-round pick for him. The pick that makes the most sense is the one they got from Charlotte when they traded Brad Wanamaker.

The Hornets gave up their 2025 2nd round pick to the Golden State Warriors, but it came to the Warriors with Top-55 protection on it, meaning that Charlotte would likely retain it unless they ended up as one of the five best teams in the league during the 2024-25 season.

For basically a no-risk and potential reward price, the Golden State Warriors should be interested in adding Marc Gasol as one of the final guys on their roster.

The Lakers should be willing to move on from Gasol for any value, so getting this protected second-round pick could very well be something they are interested in.
