The Los Angeles Lakers have been very busy this offseason making moves by adding former NBA All-Star talents to their roster, and the latest name that will soon join their roster is DeAndre Jordan.
During the 2016-17 season, the former All-Star has been with the Brooklyn Nets for the last two seasons. Still, on September 3, the Nets traded him to the Detroit Pistons, along with four second-round picks and $5.78M in cash, for Jahlil Okafor and Sekou Doumbouya.
The Pistons will be finalizing a buyout agreement with DeAndre Jordan in the coming week. Jordan intends to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers when this is done, first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
There will be a waiver period after the Pistons buy out the veteran center from his contract, but he will be signing a one-year, minimum contract with the Lakers.

Now, Los Angeles is going to not only add another former All-Star to their roster, but they will have DeAndre Jordan, Dwight Howard, and Anthony Davis as their three center options. So where does this leave Marc Gasol, who still has a year and $2.6M remaining on his contract?
During the summer, Gasol played with Team Spain in the Summer Olympics and while they failed to win a medal, the former 3x All-Star center stated back on August 3 that he was going to return for his 13th season in the league and finish off the remainder of his contract in Los Angeles.
Well, things have seemed to change for the Lakers and their roster, which is why Gasol may not have a spot on it anymore.
