The Washington Wizards were part of one of the biggest trades this NBA offseason. They sent star point guard Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers. They acquired Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and a 2021 first-round pick.

Later, that deal was expanded into a massive five-team deal that also landed Aaron Holiday and Isaiah Todd, the No. 31 overall pick in Washington’s 2021 NBA Draft. The No. 21 pick, Isaiah Jackson, was sent to Indiana in the deal.

Washington did a great job upgrading the entire roster this offseason. They are deep at every position, as they also acquired Spencer Dinwiddie to take over as the starting point guard in a sign-and-trade deal. Corey Kispert was selected with the 15th overall pick as well.

Surrounding superstar shooting guard Bradley Beal with some help this offseason was the franchise’s goal. While Beal hasn’t committed long-term, not asking for a trade following the Westbrook deal gives Washington some confidence he will stay.

But, they should not rest on their laurels. They should continue pushing to upgrade the roster and turn this team into a perennial playoff team. Acquiring a player such as Myles Turner would help them do that.

The Indiana Pacers’ starting center has been a trade candidate since the last offseason and could still be on the move. Washington would look into acquiring the former Longhorn to bolster their center position further.

Here are three reasons the Washington Wizards should still pursue a deal for Myles Turner.
