3 Trade Scenarios For Ben Simmons To Land With Portland Trail Blazers

Ben Simmons, Portland Trail Blazers, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

Ever since Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Ben Simmons wants out of the 76ers organization on Tuesday, trade rumors have been blowing up regarding the young NBA All-Star.

While he did have his struggles in the postseason and has been well documented not to be a shooter on offense, Simmons is still a 3x All-Star, 2x All-Defensive player and was named to the 2019-20 All-NBA list, so he is definitely still a high-level talent.

There is little room for error, but the 76ers have to decide what they want to do rather quickly. NBA training camps are set to begin at the end of the month, and with the 2021-22 season slowly creeping upon us, the 76ers championship window continues to close.

The Brooklyn Nets are getting strong, the Milwaukee Bucks are coming off a championship last season, and the Miami Heat look to be a championship contender once again, so if Philadelphia fails to get what they need in a trade package involving Ben Simmons, they could very well end up flipping their roster around over the next several years.

With Joel Embiid arguably the best big man in the league when healthy, the Sixers definitely are still going to be a force to be reckoned with, regardless if Ben Simmons is on the court for them. However, they still are missing something to be a true championship contender.

Daryl Morey and this front office would obviously like to add another star player like Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal, but are these two realistic options for this team?

Portland is the betting favorite to land Ben Simmons as of right now, and they have been linked to the 76ers 7-footer for quite some time now.

Since the Sixers lost in the postseason, it seems like Ben Simmons has been on the trade block, and with the Blazers looking to add another All-Star talent, Simmons could wind up being their only choice.

Who will ultimately end up with Ben Simmons remains the “million-dollar question” in the NBA right now, but we could have some more clarity on the Blazers’ chances of landing him over the next week or so. Let’s look at the latest rumors and possible requests about the 76ers and Trail Blazers.
