Phoenix Suns Receive: G Terrence Ross

Orlando Magic Receive: F Jalen Smith, F/C Dario Saric, PHX 2023 2nd Round Pick

While he is definitely on the trade block, Terrence Ross is a name we have not heard much of in the offseason, which is a bit surprising. The Orlando Magic will be one of the last-place teams in the NBA this upcoming year, and they are rebuilding, which is why Ross will likely be moved at some point. 

The now 30-year-old wing played in just 46 games last season due to injuries, but in his limited time, Ross still proved to be one of the best bench players in the entire league.

Over 92% of his total points last season were from him coming off the bench, and near midseason, Terrence Ross was actually getting some consideration for Sixth-Man of the Year!

He is absolutely a guy that can be a difference-maker for a contending team’s bench, which is why the Phoenix Suns should definitely express interest in him if they look to trade Jalen Smith.

For his career, Terrence Ross has averaged 11.4 points and has shot 36.7% from three-point range, making him a key talent to put behind guys like Devin Booker and Mikal Bridges in the Suns’ depth chart. 

While the Magic probably would not want Dario Saric, especially since he is injured, they could definitely be interested in another young talent like Jalen Smith and a 2023 2nd round pick.

The Magic need more young talent that they can build with and grow, which is why they would be willing to sacrifice Ross at what appears to be a low price.

This is a great deal for the Phoenix Suns, and they would get a veteran player who is experienced enough to help them in their push to get back to the NBA Finals. If Terrence Ross is available for this price, the Suns need to pull the trigger on this deal immediately.
