De’Andre Hunter

The Portland Trail Blazers need to balance out their roster to help them get to the next level. That could occur with some help from the Atlanta Hawks.

Atlanta made a surprise run in the postseason, advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals before losing there to the Milwaukee Bucks. They will have some tough decisions to make when it comes to figuring out who should be part of the foundation going forward. Things are going to get very expensive soon, and they have already been looking to move money.

Danilo Gallinari has been mentioned in trade rumors as Atlanta looks to shed some salary. Bogdan Bogdanovic could also be someone they look to move. Portland should get in on that by offering CJ McCollum but asking for De’Andre Hunter to be attached to the deal as well.

Hunter is exactly what the Trail Blazers are looking for on the wing. He could become their defensive ace and push Norman Powell to the shooting guard spot alongside Damian Lillard in the backcourt.

Hunter would provide Portland with some much-needed size as well, as they are currently projected to start three players 6’3” or shorter. His two-way profile is exactly what they need and the kind of player they should be targeting in a return package for McCollum.
