Does this trade make sense for OKC Thunder?
The OKC Thunder have been a team we have mentioned to be interested in Marvin Bagley III several times in the past, so there really is no reason this trade does not make sense for them.
They would essentially be trading away Kenrich Williams and a first-round pick for a young impactful player in Bagley, as well as two other frontcourt options in Thompson and Bitadze.
While Oklahoma City will still be a team that winds up finishing in last place in the league, they do need to reach the salary cap floor for the 2021-22 season and this trade would put them right at the $101.2M salary cap floor they need to be at.
The best part about this deal for OKC though is that they would not be tied down to any of the three guys they acquire long-term. Thompson and Bagley are both in the final years of their contracts and Bitadze have a team option for next season that the OKC Thunder could decline.

There really is nothing not to like about this trade from Oklahoma City’s perspective, especially since they would only be giving up one first-round pick.
