Portland Trail Blazers Receive: C Marc Gasol
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: POR 2026 2nd Round Pick (Top-35 Protected)
The Los Angeles Lakers probably are not going to receive much more than a second-round pick in exchange for Marc Gasol, which is why they would receive on from the Portland Trail Blazers in this trade.
Compared to the Warriors trade, this secondary-round pick is not nearly as protected as the Hornets one, but the Lakers would be getting it a year later in 2026 compared to 2025.
Portland is in a predicament right now as an organization because of Damian Lillard’s frustration. Lillard wants to win and right now, this team is not really set up to be a legit contender in the Western Conference, which is why he could very well request a trade soon.
Adding Marc Gasol does not make the Portland Trail Blazers a contender in the Western Conference, but he could actually provide them with some stability in their frontcourt.

Gasol has always been an effective perimeter big man, specifically in pick-and-roll sets and with Cody Zeller being the only depth behind Jusef Nuric, Portland could really use another experienced big man.
After all, Nurkic has been hurt the last few seasons, so if he goes down again, Cody Zeller will be the only big man on this Blazers’ roster.

Seeing as the Portland Trail Blazers still have some open roster spots, adding Marc Gasol could be a very smart move for Portland to make in order to add some insurance to their roster.
