The Dark Horse Team To Trade For Kristaps Porzingis

There have been a few teams reportedly in the mix for Kristaps Porzingis. The Golden State Warriors are one team that has been mentioned, as the Dallas Mavericks reportedly offered him in a trade centered around Kelly Oubre Jr. at the trade deadline.

Nothing came from that, and most of the chatter seemed to be initiated by the Mavericks. But, there would be some positives to the Warriors acquiring Porzingis.

There are some red flags to taking him on, such as his injury history. But, teams looking to legitimize themselves and make a jump in the standings could make some sense. The Washington Wizards and Minnesota Timberwolves are two teams that come to mind in that instance.

If Dallas is truly done with him and just wants to get him off the roster, a salary dump could be in line. The Oklahoma City Thunder are willing to take on just about anyone if draft picks are included. The Houston Rockets could also be a fit from that standpoint.

Let’s take a look at why the Toronto Raptors should pursue a trade.
