This is the ultimate deal that Philadelphia fans have been drafting up ever since there were rumors that Damian Lillard could want out of Portland. Calm down, Philly, because Lillard is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Dame remains committed to building something special in Portland, but if they cannot prove that they are contenders or real threats in the Western Conference rather quickly, he could very well request a trade. 

Damian Lillard is in the prime of his career right now and has been putting up MVP-like numbers. Still, he will not get the recognition he deserves with the Blazers and will not contend for a championship there either since they do not have the assets to get him more help. 

Bringing in Lillard would be a dream come true for Daryl Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers right now, but it seems very, very, very unlikely that they will be able to get him before the season.

Maybe Damian Lillard will become available at the NBA trade deadline, but still, this is a very unlikely “maybe” at this point.
