The Los Angeles Lakers are a win-now team that has been aggressive over the last few NBA seasons. That has continued after a disappointing finish this season and that is what they are looking to avoid. This is not one of the blockbuster deals that would take place but it is a financial move to reshape the roster.

The Lakers were eliminated in the first round of the postseason this year. They fell to the seventh seed in the Western Conference after LeBron James and Anthony Davis missed significant time during the regular season. James was able to get back on the floor but Davis continued to sit out.

This caused the Lakers to suffer an early exit. Right away, the front office decided to make a splash. Russell Westbrook was sent to the Lakers from the Washington Wizards. This now builds a big three in Los Angeles that can compete with any team in the league.

This is more of a retooling move than one that will significantly impact either side. The Sacramento Kings would be the other team involved. Sacramento needs some big moves in the upcoming years.

The Kings have been featured in many NBA trade rumors and this is not a deal that we have seen just yet.

That does not mean that it will not happen. Let’s take a look at a smaller-scale deal that could take place between the Kings and Lakers this offseason.
