Golden State Warriors Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, G Seth Curry, PHI 2023 2nd Round Pick, PHI 2024 2nd Round Pick
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, C James Wiseman, G Jordan Poole, GSW 2022 1st Round Pick (Unprotected), GSW 2022 2nd Round Pick, GSW 2023 1st Round Pick (Swap, More Favorable to PHI), GSW 2026 1st Round Pick (Unprotected)

Giving up Ben Simmons and sharpshooter Seth Curry could be too much for the 76ers to agree to, but there is no denying that they would be getting a ton of value from the Warriors in this proposal.

Maybe they would want more, but Wiggins, Wiseman, Poole, and a handful of draft picks probably is the best deal the 76ers can get for Simmons in a single-team trade.

Unless they are going to be getting Damian Lillard from Portland or Bradley Beal from Washington, it seems highly unlikely that any trade involving Ben Simmons will not have at least three teams, that way the 76ers can get talents that can contribute immediately.

Philadelphia was the 1-seed in the Eastern Conference last season and they are still championship contenders since they have Joel Embiid on their roster, but overall, their championship window is pretty small with the Brooklyn Nets being a juggernaut and the Milwaukee Bucks coming off a title of their own.

They need to be able to move Ben Simmons for another high-level talent, which is why while this trade package from Golden State is eye-opening, they would need another team to get involved to give the 76ers another key asset to go along with Wiggins.

From the Warriors’ point of view, getting Simmons could be the final move they need to make in order to cement themselves as true championship contenders again.

Both Ben Simmons and Draymond Green are two of the premier defenders in the NBA today and with four total All-Stars, as well as key talents in Seth Curry, Andre Iguodala, Otto Porter Jr., and their rookies, Golden State could suddenly be a tough team to beat.

Not to mention, Paul Millsap is still a free agent and the Warriors are interested in him as well, so they could potentially add him as a free agent after making this deal.

This is all wishful thinking, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves, but even if they give up Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, and Jordan Poole, the Warriors would still have plenty of key contributors on their roster, as well as options in free agency to add.

There is a lot to discuss with this trade package, so let’s see if this deal makes sense for both the Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors.
