It was not too long ago that DeMarcus Cousins was among the best big men in the NBA. He could do it all. He was an elite scorer with three-point range. Excellent rebounder, good playmaker, and rim protector. Great things were expected when the New Orleans Pelicans acquired him from the Sacramento Kings.
New Orleans had expectations of Cousins and Anthony Davis dominating opposing teams from the frontcourt together as two of the best big men in the NBA. Unfortunately for Cousins, the injuries began piling up.
The Kentucky product suffered a ruptured Achilles in 2018 with the Pelicans. Not only was his playing career now derailed, but Cousins had yet to truly cash in as a free agent and wouldn’t have another opportunity to do so.
He battled back and returned to the court to play with the Golden State Warriors. He was still getting it done on both ends of the court but tore his quadriceps early in the postseason. Cousins rehabbed relentlessly to return and try to help the team win a championship, but they were defeated by the Toronto Raptors.

That offseason, he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers but never suited up for the team. Despite looking to be in the best shape of his career, Cousins tore his ACL during offseason workouts. He missed the entire 2019-20 season but returned for the 2020-21 campaign.
He started with the Houston Rockets before being bought out and landing with the Los Angeles Clippers. He played well for Los Angeles, showing he still has something in the tank to offer teams.
Where will he be playing next? Here are three teams that should still take a chance on Cousins.
