The Washington Wizards made one of the bigger trades this offseason, sending Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers. Once Westbrook was traded, many believed that Bradley Beal would be on the way out as well.

For now, Beal remains with the Wizards. If they want him to stick with them long-term, they should continue upgrading the roster around him so they can start winning some games.

As an organization that has found little success in landing free agents, the Wizards taking a swing on a player such as Kristaps Porzingis makes sense.

The former All-Star returning to form would give the Wizards quite an inside-out combination with him and Beal. When you add in Spencer Dinwiddie, they would have a pretty formidable trio to fight for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Given all of the pieces they added this offseason via the draft and other trades, they would be able to piece together a compelling trade package for Porzingis should they want to pursue him. If Dallas is willing to add some draft compensation as well, Washington should seriously monitor the situation.
