Would this trade make sense for the San Antonio Spurs?

The San Antonio Spurs are a franchise that is used to winning but that has not been the case over the last two years. They are in a bit of a transition period and this has caused the team to miss the postseason in each of the last two years. Now, the front office can be aggressive in hopes of adding some other big-name players to a team that is young.

This is where D’Angelo Russell could come in and bring experience and explosiveness to the backcourt. He has moved around the NBA a bit but could find a home in San Antonio.

There are certainly worse teams and coaches to play for. Gregg Popovich would know how to use Russell and make his team successful once again. They made a move toward the postseason this year but fell just short.

The Spurs have some young pieces in the backcourt to pair with Russell. They would have to part ways with Murray here but Keldon Johnson is a promising talent that could step up into a bigger role.

San Antonio cannot be happy with the previous two years and this is why there could be some moves made. It will be interesting to see which direction the front office goes when it is all said and done.
