Best Landing Spot: Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers have revamped their roster this offseason. LeBron James is now the longest-tenured Laker and is one of four holdovers, along with Anthony Davis, Marc Gasol and Talen Horton-Tucker, from the 2020-21 season.
Rob Pelinka acquired Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards as their biggest move of the offseason. After that, he got to work filling out the roster with veteran’s minimum deals. Should Rajon Rondo secure a buyout, he will be another player on the roster that signs a veteran’s minimum deal.
Rondo is exactly what the Lakers are looking for when it comes to filling one of their last open roster spots. They are interested in signing a third point guard, and he would fit the bill.
While Kendrick Nunn and James can fill the playmaking role, Westbrook is the only true point guard on the roster. Adding another player that is capable of running the offense, as Rondo would be, is something that should intrigue the Lakers.

Rondo played well in his first stint with the Lakers and knows what it takes to win. Having experience playing alongside James and Davis would also make the transition easier acclimating him to the roster.
This offseason has been a reunion tour for Los Angeles as Trevor Ariza, Kent Bazemore, Wayne Ellington and Dwight Howard are all back for second or third stints with the team. Adding one more reunion with Rondo would be a solid addition to the team.
