Worst Landing Spot: Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are looking to keep their championship window open. Their aging core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green could use some help in getting the team back to the NBA Finals.
One of the areas they could use an upgrade in is the backup point guard spot. Jordan Poole played better in his sophomore season behind Curry, but options are limited beyond him. Chris Chiozza, who is on a two-way deal, and Gary Payton II, who has a non-guaranteed contract are the other players on the roster.
Rondo’s experience and IQ would be good insurance to have behind Curry, but would he be a good fit for the Warriors system? While his 3-point shooting has improved, he is still a shaky shooting from the perimeter.
Can Steve Kerr make things work with two non-shooters in Rondo and Green sharing the court for periods for the Warriors? Rondo has made at least one 3-pointer per game in his career only once.

The Warriors could also shore up their backcourt with a trade. They are one of the teams mentioned as a possible landing spot for Ben Simmons, which would drastically alter the look of the roster.
Even if the Warriors doesn’t swing a deal of that magnitude, they are always looking to make deals to improve the deal. There are likely better fits than Rondo out there for their style of play.
