This Lakers-Pelicans Trade Is Centered Around Marc Gasol

The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the best teams in the league since LeBron James came to town. This was to be expected, especially after they made a deal to acquire Anthony Davis. After winning a championship down in the NBA Bubble, the Lakers were eliminated early in this year’s playoffs.

Los Angeles saw both James and Davis miss time during the regular season and this caused them to fall to seventh in the Western Conference. They were eliminated in the first round by the Phoenix Suns and this marked the first time that James was unable to advance in the playoffs.

If healthy, the Lakers are going to enter next season as the favorites to come out of the Western Conference. They have already made a blockbuster move this offseason by acquiring Russell Westbrook. They could continue to reshape the roster moving forward.

The New Orleans Pelicans or another team that could be in the market for a trade. Ever since the rumors came out that Zion Williamson might be unhappy in the organization, New Orleans has been aggressive in finding him help.

Devonte’ Graham was acquired in a sign-and-trade deal and the Pelicans also landed Jonas Valanciunas. The front office knows that they have work to do if they want to build a winner in the Western Conference.
