The NBA offseason is winding down as August is nearing its end. Before we know it, training camps will be opening up and the 2021-22 season will be right on the doorstep.
There are a lot of teams with high aspirations heading into the new season. There was a lot of player movement this offseason as teams will be looking to crash the playoff party this year. But, there weren’t as many big trades as originally expected.
Coming into the offseason, there was a chance we saw All-NBA talents such as Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal or Ben Simmons traded. The packages for them would have certainly included high-upside, All-Star caliber players.
The biggest trade that occurred this offseason involved Russell Westbrook heading from the Washington Wizards to the Los Angeles Lakers. Multiple sign-and-trades occurred in free agency as well, as Kyle Lowry, Lonzo Ball, Devonte’ Graham and DeMar DeRozan all found new homes that way.

With most of the salary cap space used, there won’t be many, if any, more big free-agent signings. However, there could still be some trades completed between now and the regular season.
