3 Trade Targets For Dallas Mavericks With $11.9M TPE

Entering the 2021 NBA offseason, there were a lot of expectations on the Dallas Mavericks to make a big move and add another high-level talent next to Luka Doncic on their roster, but the Mavs really did not make any huge moves.

The Mavericks re-signed Tim Hardway Jr. and Boban Marjanovic, as well as agree to a monster contract extension with Luka Doncic, but their only new free agent signings were Reggie Bullock and Sterling Brown.

Both guys shot over 40% from three-point range last season, so they will definitely be perimeter threats on the wing for Dallas, but overall, this offseason has been very sub-par for the Dallas Mavericks.

They had a chance to grab a player like Kyle Lowry or DeMar DeRozan who would have brought a lot of firepower with them to help this team, but they were unable to land a key free agent, resulting in them having a similar team they have had over the last two seasons.

With Jason Kidd now being the head coach of the Mavericks and Luka Doncic primed to have an even better fourth season in the league than he has his first three, who knows, the Mavs could wind up being better than they were last season, but in terms of making a playoff run, they may still find themselves stuck as a first-round playoff team.

Dallas now has little cap space and not many assets to pull off a key trade, but with an $11.9M traded player exception from trading Josh Richardson to the Boston Celtics in the offseason, the Mavericks may have the ability to bring in a key talent at some point in the middle of the 2021-22 season. Keep an eye on them in NBA trade rumors as a result.

Who will the Mavericks possibly target with their rather large TPE? Let’s take a look at three trade targets for Dallas to consider at some point during the 2021-22 season.
