Washington Wizards Receive: F Harrison Barnes

Sacramento Kings Receive: F Kyle Kuzma, G Aaron Holiday

Both Kyle Kuzma and Aaron Holiday cannot be traded until after Sept. 27 at the earliest since they both were involved in a multi-team deal that sent them to the Washington Wizards, but before Kuzma was on the move to the Wizards, he was almost on the move to Sacramento. 

Before the Lakers got themselves involved with the Wizards to acquire Russell Westbrook, there was a trade in-place for Los Angeles to acquire Buddy Hield from the Kings in exchange for a trade package that included both Montrezl Harrell and Kyle Kuzma from the Lakers.

Now, since they re-signed Richaun Holmes and brought in both Alex Len and Tristan Thompson, the Kings do not necessarily need/want Harrell anymore, but they could still be high on Kuzma. 

NBA Analysis Network’s own Evan Massey reported back in June about the Sacramento Kings having interest in Kuzma, which is why they could still want him if he is available.

Getting Kyle Kuzma and Aaron Holiday from the Wizards for Harrison Barnes may not seem like fair value for the Kings, but they would be getting two young talents that they could potentially utilize moving forward. 

As for the Wizards, they are looking for ways to surround Bradley Beal with more talent and this would definitely be a move that does so. Barnes averaged 16.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 39.1% from three-point range last season, making him a prime offensive weapon for them to have next to Bradley Beal.

If they still want Kyle Kuzma, then trading Harrison Barnes to the Washington Wizards could be a smart move for the Sacramento Kings to make, even if they do not necessarily get a huge return.
