It was their first appearance in the NBA Finals since the 1992-93 season, which goes to show the difference that the addition of Chris Paul made to the roster.

Also, both James Jones — the general manager — and Monty Williams — the head coach — deserve credit for the quick turnaround that Phoenix had just this past season.
