D.J. Augustin – Houston Rockets
I guess he was technically a part of the 2020-21 Milwaukee Bucks championship run, but D.J. Augustin was traded from Milwaukee to Houston back in March when P.J. Tucker went to the Bucks. Now, Augustin finds himself on a rebuilding franchise that is trying to move him.
The 33-year-old guard is going to be entering his 14th season in the league and throughout his entire career, Augustin has been a guy many have slept on. He may not be a high-scoring guy, nor a flashy player, but the veteran guard goes out on the court every single game, gives it his all, and you know as a team what you are going to get from him.
D.J. Augustin has played for 10 different NBA franchises and if the Dallas Mavericks were to look at acquiring him, they would wind up being his 11th team in 14 seasons in the NBA. He is owed $7M this upcoming season and then $7.33M during the 2022-23 season (partially-guaranteed), but Augustin is a guy the Mavericks should want to add.
Throughout his entire career, Augustin has proven to be a reliable ball-handler and facilitator, and he has the stats to back this up. In 921 career games, D.J. Augustin has averaged 9.7 points, 4.0 assists and has shot 37.9% from deep, making him a veteran guy the Mavericks should want to add in their thin backcourt.

For the price of a future second-round pick and someone like Trey Burke or Moses Brown, the Mavs can acquire D.J. augustin quick and painless.
