The Toronto Raptors seem to be stuck in no man’s land a little bit this offseason. They had a rough 2020-21 season, but this roster is a lot better than their record would indicate.

A core of Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam, at worst, should challenge for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. With a few tweaks, they could even become contenders again. But, they could just as easily become sellers.

Pascal Siakam could be on the move as we get closer to training camp. There have been some rumors about the team possibly shopping him, and those rumors grew louder when they used the No. 4 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft on Florida State power forward, Scottie Barnes.

With Barnes and Siakam occupying the same position, it could make some sense to trade Siakam. At 27-years old, he still has plenty of years ahead of him to produce. But, does he fit the Raptors’ current timeline?

Toronto will opt to do a bit of a roster retool and trade Pascal Siakam to the Sacramento Kings. Sacramento is desperate to swing a trade and he is on their radar. Adding that kind of firepower would be a strong addition to the budding backcourt that they are putting together with De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton and Davion Mitchell.
