Entering the 2020-21 NBA season, the Washington Wizards were looking to get Bradley Beal some help, so they added Russell Westbrook. This duo of Beal and Westbrook took the Wizards to the playoffs, only to lose in the first-round to the 1-seeded Philadelphia 76ers.
Now, entering the 2021-22 season, the Washington Wizards have continued to look for ways to get Bradley Beal more help, so they traded away Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles.
In this multi-team deal, they received Aaron Holiday, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell and Kyle Kuzma, all of which will contribute right away. The Wizards also added Spencer Dinwiddie via a sign-and-trade with the Brooklyn Nets.
However, Washington is still lacking talent to be better than they were last season, especially with teams like the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks all improving this offseason. Adding another impactful player either in their starting unit or on their bench could go a long way in not only improving this team, but potentially keeping Bradley Beal long-term.
