Golden State Warriors Receive: G Bradley Beal, G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Washington Wizards Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, C James Wiseman, G Moses Moody, F Jonathan Kuminga

*Note: Jonathan Kuminga cannot be traded before September 2, 2021 and Moses Moody cannot be traded before September 4, 2021 due to recently signing their rookie contracts.

Draft picks would most definitely be involved in any deal for Bradley Beal, but could the Warriors get away with trading the No. 7 and No. 14 picks in this year’s draft in Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga instead? Both guys have looked really strong in Summer League so far and could very well end up being key talents in the Warriors’ system for years to come.

In addition to two young core pieces in Kuminga and Moody, the Washington Wizards would also be getting Andrew Wiggins and James Wiseman, two other young assets for them to add. Wiggins put together a really solid season in Golden State last year and is definitely a key two-way talent that could continue to get better in time.

Next to Steph as their “No. 2 option” last season, Wiggins averaged 18.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 0.9 steals and shot a career-high 38% from three-point range. Given his length and athleticism, Andrew Wiggins is a very underrated perimeter defender who gets his job done. His contract is not too favorable, as he is owed nearly $65.2M over the next two seasons, but he is definitely a guy Washington could build with in the post-Beal era.

James Wiseman also brings a lot to the table being last year’s No. 2 overall pick and has All-Star-like potential. Getting four young talents who are all NBA-ready could definitely be favorable to the Wizards in the event that they were to trade Bradley Beal, but still, they may want more.

The Warriors are committed to trying to chase more championships now, which is why they could be willing to sacrifice their future to do so. They were in talks the week of the draft with multiple teams in attempts to add more established talent to their roster, but they were unable to get a deal done, which is why they drafted Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody No. 7 and No. 14 overall, respectively.

Heading into the 2021-22 season, these two rookies are going to continue being viewed highly of and with Klay Thompson coming back, Andrew Wiggins and James Wiseman could really thrive and grow on their previous seasons because they can be themselves instead of having to try and compensate in the Warriors’ rotation.

A Bradley Beal trade does not seem like something that is imminent, especially since he is up for a big contract extension next season, but if the Wizards are near the bottom of the standings near the trade deadline during the 2021-22 season, he could very much be on the move.
