At what point do the Los Angeles Clippers finally improve the top of the offense? The point guard position is one that has been in question for the Clippers since they acquired their dynamic duo. This would help the team take that step toward an NBA championship and it is time that it happens this year.

Kawhi Leonard is the main priority for the Clippers. He opted out of his contract with Los Angeles but this should not cause panic because that seemed to be the plan for a while now.

Leonard hinted at opting out for business purposes but it seems extremely likely that the two sides reunite. If this is the case, Los Angeles should be looking for a point guard to team up with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The Clippers are one of the top teams in the league and will be even better with that next-level point guard.

The Charlotte Hornets continue to be an intriguing team to look at if a team needs help in the backcourt. Charlotte entered the offseason as a deep unit at guard but Devonte’ Graham is now with the New Orleans Pelicans.

To make up for the loss, Charlotte added Kelly Oubre Jr. on a two-year deal. He will now be next to LaMelo Ball in the backcourt. This gives the Hornets flexibility still if they want to make a trade. Let’s not forget that the Hornets used their first-round pick on James Bouknight, too.

These two sides could match up very well for a deal moving forward. Let’s take a closer look and see how this trade between the Clippers and Hornets could happen this offseason.
