3. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have had an excellent offseason. They were able to land superstar Russell Westbrook in a deal with the Washington Wizards, giving them another difference-maker alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

With those three players taking up virtually all of the Lakers’ cap space, Rob Pelinka has worked wonders rounding out the roster. Kendrick Nunn was signed away from the Miami Heat using their taxpayer’s mid-level exception, but everyone else signed minimum deals.

Trevor Ariza, Wayne Ellington, Carmelo Anthony, Malik Monk, Dwight Howard and Kent Bazemore all took minimums to help the Lakers win a championship.

While playing time could prove difficult to come by, the Lakers would present an excellent landing spot for Frank Ntilikina because of all the veterans there he could learn from. All of the things that Monk mentioned as reasons for picking the Lakers, how to work and be a pro, for example, are things Ntilikina could benefit from as well.

He would also provide the Lakers with some excellent insurance in the backcourt and on the wings should injuries occur. Losing Alex Caruso was a big blow to the backcourt for the defense and floor spacing he provided. Ntilikina could have a similar impact with his skillset coming off the bench.
