NBA Analysis Network

With the NBA Summer League in full swing, that means the hectic period of free agency is beginning to slow down. There was a lot of movement out of the gate, but with teams’ salary cap space beginning to shrink, moves have begun slowing down.

But, there are still a few players on the free-agent market that could change teams in the coming days. Two of them are restricted free agents in Lauri Markkanen and Josh Hart.

Markkanen was selected No. 7 overall in 2017 out of Arizona by the Chicago Bulls. But, he could be on his way out as Chicago revamped their roster this offseason. The Bulls do not want to lose him for zero compensation and he is a prime candidate for a sign-and-trade should Chicago ultimately not bring him back.

Hart was selected with the 30th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. He was part of the Anthony Davis blockbuster, spending the last two seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans. He was extended a qualifying offer but his market has been slowly developing in free agency.

Goran Dragic has his team option picked up by the Miami Heat to help facilitate a sign-and-trade deal for Kyle Lowry. Will he remain with the Toronto Raptors or be re-routed elsewhere in the coming weeks?
