While there are “winners” in free agency who elevate their team’s chances of winning an NBA title greatly, there are also teams who are “losers” in free agency. So far this year, there are definitely a handful of teams who could be thrown into this category for their efforts, or lack thereof.
Most teams look to improve their rosters in the offseason, but for a select some, that just is not the case.
Whether they are rebuilding or they missed out on getting some key free agents, some teams just do not have a successful offseason.
The Phoenix Suns certainly solidified themselves as “winners” so far with not only being able to bring back Chris Paul, Cameron Payne and Abdel Nader, but also because they were able to bring in JaVale McGee as a backup for DeAndre Ayton.

The Bulls and Heat were also huge winners early on in free agency, with Chicago being able to get Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso and DeMar DeRozan, and the Heat being able to get Kyle Lowry, P.J. Tucker and bring back Duncan Robinson.
So much has been going on with key talents moving around in free agency, but let’s take a look at four of the biggest “losers” in free agency so far.
