The NBA has been busy in free agency but the Minnesota Timberwolves have remained quiet. They have not made any trades, despite being in many rumors since the regular season ended. That does not mean that they have no interest in making moves and there could be some fireworks coming up.
Karl-Anthony Towns continues to be the biggest trade piece in Minnesota. He has turned into one of the best big men and has made an impact since entering the league in 2015. His tremendous individual success is not translated into that for the Timberwolves.
They have made the postseason just one time since drafting Towns with the first-overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Minnesota now has a new player to build around in Anthony Edwards and they decide to send Towns away for a large return.
Edwards was named Rookie of the Year this season as another No. 1 pick for the franchise. The Timberwolves finished near the bottom of the Western Conference once again, which has sparked many trade rumors, both at the NBA trade deadline and here in the offseason.
