3 players the Sacramento Kings could now target in Buddy Hield trade

The Sacramento Kings are currently in the midst of one of the worst playoff droughts the NBA has ever seen. They have missed the postseason for 15 consecutive years, tying an NBA record that was previously held by the Braves/Clippers franchise from 1977 to 1991. The Kings last made the postseason in 2007.

After back-to-back 31-41 seasons under Luke Walton, there were some people surprised that he was brought back for a third season. If the team does not show some improvements in the early going, Walton could get a pink slip.

Sacramento hasn’t done much to shake up its roster this offseason. Delon Wright was traded away, and Alex Len was signed away from the Washington Wizards. They re-signed Richaun Holmes and Maurice Harkless as well, surprisingly bringing back basically their identical core.

A trade could still happen as Sacramento does have some players that have been involved in trade rumors. One of those players is shooting guard Buddy Hield.

Hield has been on the trade block for a while now, as the Kings discussed a trade involving him going to the New York Knicks for Julius Randle. He was even closer to going to the Los Angeles Lakers just a few days ago.

It was reported that Hield was being traded to the Lakers in exchange for Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and the No. 22 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Something happened at the last minute, as the Lakers pivoted and traded that same package, along with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, to the Washington Wizards for Russell Westbrook.

Now, the Kings still have Hield on the roster, making things a little bit awkward. A trade at this point would probably be best for both sides.

Where could the former Oklahoma product end up? Here are three players the Sacramento Kings should target in a Buddy Hield trade.
