Dennis Schroder

The Los Angeles Lakers would like to use Dennis Schroder in a sign-and-trade deal that would net them some assets to continue filling out their roster. Buddy Hield of the Sacramento Kings has been mentioned a lot as the player they are targeting.

However, the Lakers and Schroder are reportedly not working in tandem, which would be required for a sign-and-trade to be consummated. Schroder and his representatives are having their discussions about where he may land.

The Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks have been linked to Schroder. It remains to be seen how the Pelicans view Devonte’ Graham in terms of whether he’s a starting talent or not. Will they still seek a starter?

Schroder is seeking a major payday and for him to land that deal, he may have to discuss sign-and-trade options with the Lakers.

While he may not get the $20+ million deal he seeks, he will get a nice payday this offseason, ultimately landing with the Pelicans. He will team up with Devonte Graham, whom the team acquired from Charlotte Hornets, to help replace the production they have lost in the backcourt.
