The Los Angeles Lakers have had a very busy NBA offseason. They have revamped almost their entire roster, as LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Marc Gasol and Talen Horton-Tucker are the only players from the 2020-21 team still on the roster.

Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Montrezl Harrell are going to be heading to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Russell Westbrook. Being over the salary cap as they are, the Lakers have done a magnificent job filling out their roster with good players all taking a veteran’s minimum to join the team.

One of those players to take a veteran’s minimum for a chance at a ring was Carmelo Anthony. In what feels like something that was a long time coming, Anthony will finally be teaming up with one of his best friends in LeBron James.

Anthony is someone the Lakers opted not to sign in previous years and most definitely regretted that decision. He has proven the last two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers that he can still get the job done scoring the ball.

Now, he will have a chance to chase that elusive ring, as the Lakers are loaded with depth up and down the roster. Playing time may be difficult to come by for some, but Anthony will most definitely carve out a role on this Lakers team.
