Patty Mills
Patty Mills has spent the last 10 seasons with the San Antonio Spurs after beginning his career with the Portland Trail Blazers for two seasons. Mills is on the long list of international players that San Antonio has developed and turned into key pieces of their rotation.
Going on 33-years old, this is the offseason that Mills and the Spurs part ways. San Antonio is heading toward rebuilding or retooling of their roster and will likely not pursue any of their veteran free agents. The Spurs are going to look different next year, and their current longest-tenured player will be heading east.
Mills will end up signing with the point guard needy Boston Celtics. The Celtics have a huge hole in their backcourt after trading away Kemba Walker this offseason. While they did acquire Kris Dunn from the Atlanta Hawks, they still need more help at point guard.
Mills will provide the team a steady, veteran presence on their second unit. He can still score the ball, averaging 10.8 points per game this past season, knocking down 37.5 percent of his 3-point attempts.

He will bolster the Celtics’ bench and provide mentorship for younger backcourt players such as Payton Pritchard, Romeo Langford and Aaron Nesmith.
