Top 3 landing spots for Andre Iguodala in free agency

Golden State Warriors

The best option for Andre Iguodala in free agency is no other than the Golden State Warriors. As much as it pained them to do, the Warriors had to trade Iguodala to the Grizzlies following the 2018-19 season because they had to free up cap space to re-sign Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

If money was infinite, the Warriors would have kept Iguodala all of these years and he would have been a member of their team the last two seasons. Bringing him back now on a minimum deal is the ideal free agent target for Golden State because of what he means to this franchise.

The fan base absolutely loves Andre Iguodala and they could actually use him on the wing in the same role he played for them from 2013-2019. Andrew Wiggins is obviously the starting small-forward, much like Harrison Barnes was for them during their 2014-15 championship run, but 7th overall pick Jonathan Kuminga is not yet ready to be an impactful backup small-forward.

Kuminga has a lot of growing to do and with the Warriors wanting to contend for a championship during the 2021-22 season, their best option would be to bring in Iguodala and have him help mentor their young lottery pick.

Curry, Thompson and Green are all close friends of Andre Iguodala’s and they would all love to bring him back, which is why Golden State should do everything they can to convince their old forward to come back to the Bay Area. This would not only be the best move for the Warriors, but for Iguodala as he nears the end of his career as well.
