San Antonio Spurs selecting Josh Primo with the No. 12 overall pick
The San Antonio Spurs have long been considered the franchise that loves to take international players the most.
With that in mind, when the Spurs were on the clock at No. 12, most people were anticipating Alperen Sengun to be the name announced to San Antonio. On the contrary, seemingly out of nowhere, the Spurs took Josh Primon out of Alabama.
Primo, who doesn’t turn 19 years old until December, is considered a project at the next level after playing one year at Alabama.
In his lone season with the Crimson Tide, Primo averaged only 8.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and less than one assist per game.

What makes Primo an intriguing prospect is his ability to shoot the ball at a high clip and the possibility of him improving as a facilitator. After he heard his name called, even Primo admitted that he didn’t expect himself to be drafted that early.
