2. DeMar DeRozan
The San Antonio Spurs are at a crossroads this offseason. Do they want to retool the roster and make a push for the playoffs? Or will they begin tearing things down and rebuilding for the first time essentially ever in franchise history?
San Antonio missed the postseason in back-to-back years for the first time in franchise history, so there will be some changes. DeMar DeRozan, who has been the centerpiece of their offense, could be on the move and help get them pieces to begin their retooling.
DeRozan is not an analytics darling because he lives in the mid-range and does not shoot 3-pointers, but he is an impactful offensive player. He has developed into an excellent playmaker and is still capable of filling up the basket.
Only seven players averaged as many points and assists as DeRozan while shooting over 50 percent on 2-point attempts.

While they would like to keep the main cog of their offensive attack, San Antonio isn’t close enough to contention to get into a bidding war over the 32-year old DeRozan. With Gregg Popovich at the helm, they may give it a shot, but it is likely DeRozan moves on in free agency with teams closer to contention willing to pay a lot of money.
