Milwaukee Bucks: Derrick Rose

The Milwaukee Bucks gave up a lot to get Jrue Holiday, creating a big three of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Holiday. While their big three played outstanding together in the regular season, there has been inconsistent play from Middleton and Holiday in the playoffs.

Plus, with Donte DiVincenzo suffering a season-ending injury, their bench has taken a hit, leaving them thin in the back court. With Jeff Teague expected to depart in free agency, the Bucks could address their backup point guard position with Derrick Rose. Rose has evolved into an efficient outside shooter (shot 41.1 percent with the New York Knicks this season) and is still able to finish around the basket. Rose would be a perfect sixth-man for Milwaukee, but it remains to be seen what role he is looking for in free agency.

New York Knicks: Lonzo Ball

Speaking of the Knicks, with Rose entering free agency, New York could be on the market for a point guard. Of course, considering that Tom Thibodeau is at the helm on the Knicks, the team could bring back Rose. Regardless of what Rose’s future is with New York, Ball would be an ideal addition for the team.

While the Pelicans can match any offer Ball receives, the Knicks are projected to have the most cap space available this offseason. Given the team’s cap situation and need for a point guard, I expect them to be aggressive for the notable free-agent point guards. This is something that has spread in rumors around the NBA.

Orlando Magic: Duncan Robinson

The Orlando Magic have a few young pieces in Markelle Fultz, Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony, R.J. Hampton, and Wendell Carter Jr. to build around. Orlando also has two first-round picks in the 2021 NBA Draft. But what the Magic desperately need is a consistent three-point shooter to create space for the other players on the team.

Duncan Robinson is likely going to be a coveted player in free agency due to his ability to get himself open for three-point shots. For the Heat, Robinson has been a lethal three-point marksman in the past two seasons, setting himself up for a nice payday this offseason. The Magic would benefit greatly by signing Robinson, though, the Heat can match any offer Orlando extends to him.
