Breaking Down the Trade
Besides getting Russell Westbrook, the Lakers are getting a 2024 second-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick from the Wizards.
For Los Angeles, they sent Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Montrezl Harrell, and the No. 22 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Washington would select Isaiah Jackson with the 22nd overall pick, only to trade him to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Aaron Holiday.
And for the trade to work, Harrell needed to pick up his player option for the upcoming season, which he did.
Before both sides went through with a trade, there were multiple reports of a potential trade between the Lakers and the Sacramento Kings.

Los Angeles was expressing interest in acquiring Buddy Hield from Sacramento while Kuzma and Harrell would be heading to the Kings. However, the Lakers obviously saw Westbrook as a better addition in a massive trade with the Wizards.
