With Jokic being a supreme facilitator at the center position, having an efficient shooter like Markkanen waiting on the wings could be lethal for the Nuggets. Without having to sacrifice size, Denver could deploy a lineup that has five capable outside shooters on the floor.

Seeing that Paul Millsap is a free agent and Aaron Gordon was inconsistent with a starting role, Markkanen would give the Nuggets a long-term solution at the power forward spot.
