Sacramento Kings Receive: G Josh Richardson, C Dwight Powell, G/F Josh Green, 2022 first-round pick and 2024 second-round pick
Dallas Mavericks Receive: G Buddy Hield and 2022 second-round pick (via ATL)
Surrounding Luka Doncic with more talent is a main priority for the Dallas Mavericks this offseason. A second straight year with a first-round playoff exit led to Dallas and Rick Carlisle going their separate ways.
With Jason Kidd replacing Carlisle, the team is now focused on reinforcing their rotation with more spacing and shooting. Buddy Hield would be an ideal addition for the Mavericks in a trade, putting them in a spot to add another star in the offseason.
In hopes to get a trade completed, Dallas sends Josh Richardson and Dwight Powell. Richardson has mainly be known for his defense, and seeing how Sacramento performed on the defensive end in 2020-21, they could use any help they can get.
For Richardson to be involved though, he’d need to sign his player option. Powell would replace Holmes at the center position if he leaves in NBA free agency as expected. An interesting piece that could be added is Josh Green.

Green was a first-round pick by the Mavericks in the 2020 NBA Draft, and he doesn’t turn 21 until November. Even though he rarely played as a rookie this season, his perimeter defense and his potential as a shooter could entice the Kings. Not to mention, Sacramento would also receive a first-round pick in 2022 and a second-round selection in 2024.
