The Sacramento Kings have been in NBA purgatory for quite some time, and nothing suggests they have gotten out of it after the 2020-21 campaign.
At the least, the Kings do have De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton to build around in their back court. But the presence of Haliburton this season has put Sacramento in a position to make a decision on whether or not Buddy Hield fits their long-term plans.
There’s also the chance that Hield forces his way out this offseason, regardless of what the Kings have planned for him. Players that can space the floor and knock down threes at a high clip are wanted commodities in the NBA.
Hield is a perfect player in today’s league due to his three-point marksmanship, along with his ability to score in a variety of ways. Whether it’s using a ball screen or playing off-the-catch, he has an underrated skill-set that can get the job done in the scoring department.

After a respectable year, Buddy Hield managed to post averages of 16.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists while converting from deep at a 39.1% clip. He ranked third in the league in 3-point attempts per game and could strongly bolster a team’s perimeter shooting capabilities as a result.
For Sacramento to trade Buddy Hield, they would need something in return that is of use to them. In light of that, here are three trade packages that would entice the Kings to trade Hield this offseason.
