1. Cam Reddish
If there is one true weakness on the New York Knicks roster entering the 2021 free agency period, it is on the wing. They address some backcourt needs with Quentin Grimes and Miles McBride, but the small forward spot doesn’t have much depth at all.
The team could move RJ Barrett there if they wanted to open up backcourt minutes, but they still need some more players capable of playing the 3 spot, especially if Reggie Bullock departs in free agency. One player they could target is Barrett’s former Duke teammate, Cam Reddish.
Cam Reddish was the 10th overall pick in 2019, but the Atlanta Hawks were reportedly shopping him. Following the draft, they are now open to acquiring a future first-round pick for him, even if it is a non-lottery selection. What a coincidence, the Knicks just acquired just that from the Charlotte Hornets.
Cam Reddish has struggled to find his groove in the NBA, battling injuries and struggling with his jump shot, but there is immense potential there. While he has struggled offensively, he has shown that he can play some defense. He profiles, at worst, as a 3-and-D wing, something that teams can never have enough of.

His playoff performance was a peek at what he is capable of. He averaged 12.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks in 23 minutes per game. That kind of potential is worth a future first-round pick.
