Philadelphia 76ers – Cameron Thomas

What do the Philadelphia 76ers choose to do with Ben Simmons? That is the million-dollar question that Daryl Morey needs to answer this offseason. While it remains to be seen what happens to Simmons, finding pieces that fit around Joel Embiid is the ultimate goal.

When I say pieces that fit around Embiid, I mean players that can improve the spacing around the All-Star big man. Thomas can give the 76ers another gifted scorer that evidenced by his 88.2 percent free-throw shooting, he has the stroke to evolve as a more efficient outside scorer. From the moment that Thomas enters the league, he can be a bench scorer for any team in need of a spark.

Phoenix Suns – Ayo Dosunmu

After a heartbreaking defeat in the NBA Finals, the Phoenix Suns are entering a pivotal offseason. It will be key for them to convince Chris Paul to return for at least one more season.

With Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, and Mikal Bridges being the core pieces for the future, the Suns could use more playmaking in their rotation. Ayo Dosunmu could find himself being the choice by Phoenix if he falls to them at the second-to-last pick of the first round.

Dosunmu is a capable scorer that is a better facilitator than his 3.9 assists per game in college suggests. While Dosunmu is a perfect fit because of his skill set coming out of Illinois, he literally has the word “sun” in his name.

Utah Jazz – Nah’Shon Hyland

Dosunmu would also be a solid selection by the Utah Jazz to conclude the first round, but they likely want a more polished scorer at the guard position. Nah’Shon Hyland, who has received plenty of buzz in recent weeks, is a proficient offensive player that finished his career at VCU by notching 19.5 points and 1.9 steals per game in 2020-21 as he also made 37.1 percent of his shots from behind the three-point line.

The main focus for the Jazz is to re-sign Mike Conley and make sure they are maximizing their window with Donovan Mitchell as their star player. With a need for a scorer at the point guard position behind Conley, Hyland would be a stupendous pick for Utah.
