F Cam Reddish – Atlanta Hawks

Another young player who could be on the move soon is Cam Reddish from the Atlanta Hawks. ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported the other day that the Hawks could look to move on from one of their young wings, such as Cam Reddish, in order to save some cap space and add another first-round pick.

Cam Reddish was drafted 10th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft behind his Duke counterparts in Zion Williams (#1 overall) and R.J. Barrett (#3 overall) and has carved out a solid role in the Hawks’ rotations through his first two seasons in the NBA.

He missed a ton of time this past season due to right Achilles soreness and having a non-surgical procedure done, but was able to return in the postseason for the Hawks after being sidelined for nearly four months. In 26 regular season games during the 2020-21 campaign, Reddish averaged 11.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and shot just 26.2% from three-point range, but there’s a lot of optimism within Atlanta’s organization that he can turn into a very valuable “3-and-D” type of player on the wing.

With DeAndre’ Hunter and Kevin Huerter also on the wing, as well as having both Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari, the Hawks could get away with moving one of their young guys like Cam Reddish in order to not only free up cap space moving forward in regards to their young talents, but to add another young talent on a rookie-scale contract through a first-round draft pick in this year’s draft.

Much like Bagley, teams looking to add young, versatile players, especially a talent like Reddish who could grow into a “3-and-D” wing, should be interested in offering the Hawks a first-round pick here. Cam Reddish has the potential to grow into a really solid contributor on the wing and is definitely a “buy-low” type of trade candidate this offseason.
